2024 Ford Ranger Engine Performance

The 2024 Ranger can be had in three available powertrains, all designed for heavy-duty performance, Standard on the base trims is a 2.3L EcoBoost I-4 engine paired with a 10-speed SelectShift automatic transmission that allows you to choose between fully and semi-automatic shifting. This powertrain generates 270 horsepower and 310 lb-ft of torque and pairs with standard rear-wheel drive or optional four-wheel drive for on and off-road performance.

A 315-hp EcoBoost engine can be had on the XLT and LARIAT trims. This powertrain generates 400 lb-ft of torque, enhancing vehicle control and traction on slippery roads. The Raptor trim level is offered exclusively in 4×4 drive paired with a 3.0L EcoBoost engine that churns out 405 horsepower and 430 lb-ft of torque. This configuration comes with performance shocks and all-terrain tires for seamless off-roading.

Great Towing Capacity

Whether you want to tow a camper or a toy trailer, the Ranger has plenty of muscle for light-duty trailering. All entry models boast a towing capacity of 7,500 lbs, which is more than enough for most campers, boat and motorbike platforms, or horse trailers. The Raptor has a conventional towing capacity of 5,510 lbs when properly configured. Additional trailer tow packages can enhance the capacity and add valuable upgrades for easy trailering.

Advanced Driver Assistance Features

On and off the road, the Ranger boasts a wealth of driver assistance technologies designed to improve your driving experience. For instance, an analog rearview camera comes standard on all trim levels, helping you see what’s behind the vehicle when moving in reverse. This comes in handy when performing parking maneuvers or on narrow trails when you need to go back but don’t have enough space to turn the truck.

Innovative Technology

In addition to the driver-assistance features, Ford equips each Ranger model with a wealth of exciting tech features. The entry models come standard with a 10-inch center touchscreen running the SYNC 4A infotainment system, offered standard with voice commands, hands-free smartphone control and media streaming, and Wi-Fi hotspot capability so everyone in the truck can stay connected during the journey.

All models also come standard with a digital gauge that allows you to monitor the truck’s health, speed, fuel level, and other essential driving data. The higher trims include a universal garage opener and household-style outlets so you can power tools or equipment in areas with no electricity access.
