The Expedition is available in two different sizes. There’s the standard Expedition, and then there’s the Expedition MAX, which is a foot longer than the standard model. Both versions of this vehicle can accommodate 7 to 8 passengers and all of their belongings without feeling too snug. Both versions also have a third row that’s spacious and comfortable enough to seat adults without issues, and the same can’t be said for all of the competition.
A Great Amount of Space for Your Cargo
Even if you’re traveling with all seven or eight passengers, you won’t run out of space for cargo in the Expedition. The Expedition has 22.9 cubic feet of space behind the third row, and the MAX has 37.4 cubic feet back there. Both versions of the vehicle also allow you to fold down the second and third rows to increase the amount of space you have for cargo.
Folding down the third row gets you 69.9 cubic feet or 84.5 cubic feet of space you can fill up. The maximum cargo volume of the Expedition is 108.5 cubic feet, and the MAX version has 123.1 cubic feet to accommodate all of your cargo.
An Impressive Towing Capacity
The maximum towing capacity of 4×2 Expedition models is 6,000 pounds, while 4×4 versions can handle up to 9,600 pounds. MAX 4×2 models can handle up to 6,300 pounds, while 4×4 versions can take on up to 9,000 pounds. The car needs to be properly equipped to reach these maximum towing capacities, so make sure you talk to the salesperson at the dealership about whether or not you’ll be towing.
