Though it may not be common knowledge, the Ford F-series has been the best-selling line of trucks in America for the last 48 years, and for good reason. Even the lowest trim levels of the 2024 Ford F-150 lineup have so many highly desirable standard features, you may not even have to look at the higher trims. Design
One reason for the F-150’s popularity is that Ford offers it in so many different configurations. Each of the eight trim levels has three choices of cabs and bed sizes. Even the lowest XL trim has superior standard comfort features, including a driver’s seat with power lumbar support and the auto-hold feature, which allows you to remove your foot from the brake during long bouts of stop-and-go traffic.
In addition to the excellent selection of standard features, the base models also have a wide range of available options for everything from safety and technology features to driving equipment. Plus, the upper-level trims include a generator and mobile office, with a moonroof as an available option. With so many combinations of builds and features, you should have no problem creating a truck to suit your personal preferences.
Performance
The base model Work Truck comes with a 2.7-liter V6 EcoBoost engine that delivers a potent 325 hp and 400 lb-ft of torque. A 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 and 5.0-liter V8 engines are both available. The standard 10-speed automatic transmission allows you to choose from several driving modes, including Normal, ECO, Sport, Tow/Haul, and Slippery. Although rear-wheel drive is standard, 4-wheel drive is available, as well.
Technology
An AM/FM stereo radio and SiriusXM with 360L are standard on the lowest Work Truck trim. You also get a free one-year trial for Ford’s Connected Navigation, plus a three-month free trial of the FordPass Connect 5G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot. That allows you to connect up to 10 devices from as far away as 50 feet from the vehicle.
A 12-inch capacitive touchscreen anchors the infotainment system and Bluetooth provides hands-free connectivity for your phone and other mobile devices. You can stream content or phone calls through your truck’s speakers and conveniently upload your contacts into the F-150’s infotainment system. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are also included.
Safety
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has awarded the 2024 F-150 a perfect 5-star overall safety rating. Ford has installed driver’s aid and safety features such as:
